We got up early to get a good start on the road – some snoring last night in the shared dorms kept people awake - we all blame Tony! After some breakfast at the hostel we had another chance to get lost in Luxembourg – beautiful city – we should know we saw it twice! Then we were on the road towards Switzerland.
Most of the day was spent driving as we had a good distance to cover. But the scenery has been really fantastic; as we made progress down towards the alps we spotted our first snow capped peak. Then as we progressed further it just got better and better, with lots of lovely snow capped peaks all around us and yet is was very warm and sunny.
The Swiss houses were really just as you'd imagine them to be, beautiful wooden chalets nestled all along the hillsides, Before reaching Gstadd we stopped at the Ledi Garage at Feutersoey where Hansueli Brand was kind enough to show us around his dealership and workshop facilities – and supply us with much needed refreshments.
Hansueli is a keen Land Rover enthusiast and we were very interested to talk to him about his many Land Rovers that he owns including a 50th anniversary Defender. He also both races Land Rovers and also goes on expeditions himself. The next one is St Petersburg to Peking - a 16 day trip single handed to raise money for charity – we wish him all the best! We then made our way to the hotel – we aren't roughing tonight – we have beautiful hotel accommodation courtesy of Jaguar and Land Rover Schweiz AG. Very much appreciated for us to get a good nights sleep as we've been driving so much. Hansueli is meeting later along with his good friend Brian for a meal and some more chatting about Land Rovers – well we do love them!
